The Quick Setup Wizard guides you through MainWP’s initial configuration, including system checks, connecting child sites, adding clients, and setting up monitoring. If you skipped the wizard during installation or need to reconfigure your settings, you can restart it at any time.

What You Will Accomplish

By completing these steps, you will launch the Quick Setup Wizard and be able to:
  • Review system requirements
  • Connect your first child site
  • Add your first client
  • Configure uptime and health monitoring settings

Prerequisites

  • MainWP Dashboard plugin installed and activated
  • Administrator access to the MainWP Dashboard site

Steps

Open MainWP Tools

Click the profile image in the top-right corner, then select MainWP Tools.

Start the wizard

Click the Start Quick Setup Wizard button.The Quick Setup Wizard start screen appears. Continue through each step using the wizard navigation buttons.
If you prefer, you can open the wizard directly by visiting admin.php?page=mainwp-setup on your Dashboard site.

Common Use Cases

  • Reconfiguring after initial setup: You skipped certain steps during first-time setup and want to complete them now
  • Onboarding a team member: Walking someone through the configuration process on a shared Dashboard
  • Reviewing system requirements: Checking that your server still meets MainWP requirements after hosting changes
